Produced during the height of the Eames era, when atomic-age optimism was transforming British interiors, these clocks are now actively sought after by collectors and interior designers worldwide, regularly commanding significant premiums on platforms like 1stDibs and Pamono.

A meticulous, hand-finished restoration

This example has been fully dismantled, deep cleaned, and hand-polished piece by piece to bring the brass back to its original lustre — not simply wiped over, but properly restored ray by ray. The distinctive alternating pointed rays and ball-ended spokes give the clock its unmistakable sculptural silhouette, framing a warm gold dial with stylised black numerals beneath a domed glass lens. A new quartz movement has been fitted, but the original hands have been carefully retained, keeping the clock's genuine period character intact rather than replacing every element.

At 46cm (18 inches) diameter, this is a substantial, confident piece — solid brass construction that gives it real weight and presence, the kind of quality that mass-produced reproductions simply can't replicate.

Specifications

Manufacturer: Anstey & Wilson, Birmingham — Made in England

Era: 1960s

Frame: Brass — alternating pointed rays and ball-ended spokes, dismantled and hand-polished

Dial: Warm gold, stylised black numerals, domed glass lens

Diameter: 46cm (18 inches)

Movement: New quartz battery — original hands retained

Style: Mid century modern, Eames era, atomic age

Ready to hang

Condition

Excellent vintage condition, fully restored.
