Quartz movement, acrylic cover professionally re-polished to a clear finish, fully working. Ready to hang.

Staiger — a respected name in West German clockmaking.

About Staiger

Staiger is a well-regarded German clock manufacturer known through the 1970s and 80s for quality quartz movements and distinctive mid-century design, producing everything from wall clocks to the lead crystal desk clocks the brand later became known for. Pieces marked "West-Germany" like this one predate German reunification, and the "Quartz" callout on the dial reflects an era when accurate quartz timekeeping was still a genuine selling point.

Bold graphic numerals with real period flair

The flourished script-style Arabic numerals are a real design highlight here — elegant, slightly ornate, and typical of the more characterful end of 1970s–80s West German clock design, set against a clean cream dial. The acrylic cover has been professionally re-polished to remove the cloudiness common to clocks of this age, bringing real clarity back to the face. Signed "Staiger, Quartz, West-Germany" on the dial.

Specifications

Manufacturer: Staiger, West Germany

Era: 1970s–80s

Case: Dark brown injection-moulded case

Dial: Cream with dark brown script numerals and hands

Dimensions: 9 inches / 22.9cm diameter, 1.5 inches / 3.8cm deep

Movement: Quartz

Cover: Acrylic, professionally re-polished

Ready to hang

Condition

Very good vintage condition.
