Copper Crafts Zambia Starburst Wall Clock — Malachite Marker, Vintage 1960s
A rare and striking wall clock made in Zambia by Copper Crafts Ltd — one of the country's most celebrated craft manufacturers of the 1960s and 1970s. Pure polished copper face with a bold starburst dial, set within an embossed copper border with decorative cast corner panels. The 12 o'clock position is marked with a real malachite cabochon — deep green stone native to the Zambian Copperbelt — giving this clock a direct connection to its country of origin.
Hour positions are marked with radiating spike-and-dot indexes etched into the copper face. The movement has been replaced with a new quartz mechanism; the original hands are retained, sympathetically matched to keep the authentic period look.
As with all vintage copper pieces, the face shows age-related patina and some minor surface marks — these are reflected in the price and photographed honestly. The decorative border panels retain good detail and the malachite marker is vivid and intact.
