A bold and striking Junghans wall clock from the 1950s — one of the most visually dramatic pieces from this celebrated German manufacturer's decorative range. Twelve individual brass dome hour markers, each carrying a raised black numeral at the quarter hours and a directional arrow marker at the remaining positions, radiate from a central hammered black iron disc on a circular wrought iron frame. Ridged black metal spacers between each dome complete a composition that is unmistakably atomic age in character — confident, geometric, and entirely of its moment.

Professionally restored with a new quartz movement and new gold-tone hands. 15 inches (38cm) diameter. Ready to hang.

Junghans — The Black Forest's Finest

Junghans were founded in Schramberg in the Black Forest in 1861 and grew to become one of the most important clock manufacturers in the world — at their peak the largest clock factory in Europe. Their 1950s decorative wall clock range represented the premium end of German domestic design, produced for a market that wanted something genuinely bold on the wall.
