Metamec — The Pride of Dereham

Metamec was founded in Dereham, Norfolk in 1947 by brothers Albert and Reginald Smart, and grew into one of Britain's most respected and prolific clock manufacturers. At their peak they employed hundreds of skilled workers and supplied clocks to homes across the country and beyond. Their 1970s range combined honest British manufacture with a quietly cosmopolitan sense of style — clocks that felt neither fussy nor cold, but simply right.
