A rare and characterful vintage ceramic wall clock by Schramberger Majolikafabrik — one of Germany's most historically significant ceramic manufacturers, whose wares are actively collected across Europe and the United States. The square ceramic case with generously rounded corners is glazed in clean white with a distinctive cobalt blue trim at each corner and along the edges — a bold, graphic combination that reflects the clean modernist aesthetic of the interwar period. The white dial carries bold black Arabic numerals, a dot and dash minute track, and the original four screws which supported the original mechanical movement, retained here for authenticity.

The original mechanical movement has been replaced with a new battery quartz movement and matched black hands, with an additional seconds hand. The original key wind hole has been neatly blanked with the original brass collet — a thoughtful detail that preserves the integrity of the dial face. The clock is ready to hang and use straight away.

The back of the case carries the impressed SHMA factory mark — the mark of Schramberger Majolikafabrik, Württemberg, confirming authenticated provenance. Schramberg was founded in 1820 and became one of Germany's most celebrated ceramic factories, attracting leading designers including the Hungarian Eva Zeisel whose Bauhaus-influenced work produced some of the most collectible German ceramics of the 20th century. The factory produced under the SMF and SHMA marks from 1912 until closure in 1988.

The ceramic shows characteristic age-related craquelure crazing to the glaze in places — entirely normal and expected in a genuine piece of this age — and some discolouration to the dial surface consistent with long-term storage. These are honest and authentic details that speak to the genuine age and provenance of the piece.
