Staiger

Staiger is a well-established German clock manufacturer, founded in 1898 in St. Georgen, in the heart of the Black Forest — a region long associated with precision clockmaking. The company began by producing industrial machinery components before moving into clockmaking, and later became associated with Kundo, another respected German clock name. Staiger-branded wall, mantel, and alarm clocks were produced in genuine volume through the mid-to-late 20th century, and remain well regarded by collectors of German quartz clocks today.

Design & Styling

This is Staiger at its most functional and confident: a simple cream-toned case with a substantial glass front, a slim faux chrome inner bezel adding a touch of polish, and a clean white dial with bold black Arabic numerals. "STAIGER" is printed clearly beneath the 12, with "Quartz" noted below centre — no unnecessary decoration, just a clock built to be legible and dependable.

At 30cm across, it's a genuinely versatile size — substantial enough to read easily from across a room, without dominating a wall the way a larger statement piece would.
