A refined palette — silver, gold, and brass

Where Metamec's coloured dial variants — yellow, black, copper — make a bold chromatic statement, the Model 5893 takes a more refined approach: a brushed satin silver dial set against gold baton markers and a warm brass-tone bezel, the palette built entirely from metallic tones that shift subtly with the light rather than asserting a colour. The result is a clock that reads as quietly sophisticated — the kind of design that works in almost any interior without fighting for attention, and that rewards a closer look with the quality of its detailing.

The stylised gold baton markers replace conventional numerals entirely, giving the dial a clean minimalism that is very much of the 1960s — the same design confidence that drove British clockmaking at its most assured. Metamec went into receivership in 1984, and the Model 5893 represents the brand at the height of their design output from their Dereham, Norfolk factory.
