The bright white embossed dial carries bold raised black Arabic numerals of generous scale, a continuous minute ring of fine dash markers, and the Metamec name in a neat boxed cartouche at twelve. The polished chrome bezel sits close and clean against the dial, giving the clock a precision and authority that the looser-fitting bezels of lesser clocks cannot match. The convex glass adds a pleasing sense of depth. New quartz movement, black hands with vivid red seconds. Metamec was founded in Dereham, Norfolk in 1947 and grew to become the largest clock manufacturer in the United Kingdom, producing 350 different models at their peak.
