Anstey & Wilson were based in Birmingham and produced a focused range of premium wall clocks during the 1960s and 70s, sold through the better furnishing and department stores of their day. While their teak and brass starbursts are the design most collectors seek, this scalloped chrome format is a genuinely rarer alternative — the same commitment to quality materials and considered design, in a distinctly different silhouette.

A striking petal-edged silhouette

The clock is built around a substantial chrome backing plate with a softly scalloped, petal-shaped edge — a real departure from the standard round case, giving the piece genuine sculptural presence on the wall. A polished brass bezel frames the champagne dial, with bold black Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and fine dash markers between, signed "Anstey & Wilson, England" at centre. A new quartz movement has been fitted, with hands sympathetically matched to the originals and a gentle step seconds hand.

Condition

Very good vintage condition, presents very well. The champagne dial shows some light discolouration, and there is slight pitting to the polished chrome case, both consistent with genuine age. Please review all photos carefully, as they form part of the item's description.
