Vintage Junghans Quartz Desk Clock — Brushed Brass Case, Roman Numerals, West Germany
A clean, honest piece from Junghans — this desk clock has a simple rectangular brushed brass case with ball finials on top, a crisp white dial with black Roman numerals, and elegant pierced hour and minute hands.
Junghans
Junghans was founded in 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, by Erhard Junghans, and by the early 20th century had grown into one of the largest clock manufacturers in the world. This piece represents the plainer, more understated end of Junghans's output — no ornamentation beyond the brushed brass finish and turned ball finials, letting the quality of the case speak for itself.
The clock
The clock has a battery-powered quartz movement fitted via the rear access door, keeping accurate time with no winding required. A neat, versatile size for a desk, mantel, or shelf.
