Vintage Westclox Crest Alarm Clock — NOS, Boxed, White Case, Black Dial, Luminous Hands
New old stock is a rare find in the clock world, and this one's the real thing: a Westclox Crest alarm clock that has never been used, still in its original box with the General Time Ltd paperwork intact.
Westclox in Scotland
Westclox operated a major factory at Strathleven in Dumbarton, Scotland, from 1948 to 1988, producing over 50 million clocks during that time. By the mid-1970s the Dumbarton site had become the headquarters of General Time's international operations, and clocks from this era carry the General Time Ltd branding seen on this box. Scottish-made Westclox pieces were a fixture in homes across Britain, and surviving examples in genuinely unused condition like this one are increasingly scarce.
The clock
This is the Crest model with the "new dial" black face, cream white plastic case, and luminous hands with an orange sweep second hand for easy reading in low light. It's a mechanical wind-up movement, set and wound via the two knobs on the back, with an alarm function.
