Westclox Red Dial Wall Clock, Made in Scotland, 1960s, Rare Colourway, Screen Printed Glass

A rare and striking vintage wall clock by Westclox, made in Scotland during the 1960s — and one of the most unusual colourways we have encountered in this model. Where the standard version carries a gold or cream dial, this example features a rich deep red face with bold white Arabic numerals and white dot minute markings. Unusually, these markings are screen-printed directly onto the glass rather than onto the dial beneath — a distinctive manufacturing detail that gives the face a clean, graphic quality quite different from conventional printed dials.

The white case has been sympathetically refurbished with a repainted bezel, and the clock has been fitted with a new battery quartz movement and matched white replacement hands. Originally mains powered, it is now entirely self-contained and ready to hang.

Westclox operated their UK factory in Dumyat, Stirling, producing clocks for the British domestic market from the 1950s through to the 1980s. This example carries the Made by Westclox Ltd Scotland mark on the dial, confirming its British-made provenance.

Good vintage condition. The dial shows some age-related fading to the red colour — honest wear consistent with a piece of this age. The screen printing on the glass remains clear and crisp throughout with no lifting or loss. The refurbished white bezel is clean. The new quartz movement and matched white hands are fitted and working.
